HOW TO APPLY FOR CUSTOMS BROKER EXAM 2020

Did you know, last year 60% of total CB Application forms were rejected due to small mistakes !!!!! Beware !!!!!!!

Upcoming Customs Broker Licence Exam will be held on 6 th March 2020, if you have difficulty in form filling this article for you. Below are some points you need to take care:


1- You need to apply in Form A, format is attached below. This form A is a part of CBLR 2018 you can obtain from there also. NO other format or form will be accepted. Please down load form A from Below link

2-You have to submit an Affidavit on Stamp paper of Rs. 100 (Format attached)

3- Copy of

•             PAN CARD
•             AADHAR CARD
self attested copy should be enclosed.

4- Two recent Passport Size Photographs out of which one should be attested by a Gazzted Officer (If you are a professional ) or Customs Broker (If you are a G-card Holder), and second one should be pasted on on below mentioned format and attached to the form.

Same format with photograph in softcopy in a pen-drive need to submit with the application form.

5-Certified Copies of Educational Qualifications (10th, 12th, Graduation, MBA or other degree)

6- One Address Proof self attested

7- Bank Solvency Certificate for Rs. 500000/- issued by a Scheduled Bank / proof acceptable to the Commissioner of Customs (General) stating that the applicant is in possession of assets of Value of not less than Five Lakh Rupees. In below format:

8- Details of Professional Degree for Professionals (it means copy of the degree has to be there)

9- If you are a G-card Holder:(i) Certified copy of Customs Broker Licence means copy attested by your CB(ii) Certified copy of "G" Card,, means copy attested by your CB(iii) Details of G-card exam like year of passing exam, Roll no. alongwith copy of the result.( All the Above documents should be self attested. Originals shall be required to be produced on demand)

 10- You need to deposit  Rs 500 as Application Fee paid through TR-6 Challan to Commissioner of Customs (Airport and General) New Customs House New Delhi.

11- you should also enclose a copy of recent ITR or salary certificate with your application form.

12- Do not forget to sign the application form.

Negative Marking is Added in Customs Broker Examination

Hello Friends,

NATIONAL ACADEMY OF CUSTOMS, INDIRECT TAXES & NARCOTICS FARIDABAD has issued a press release mentioning changed pattern of your Customs Broker Exam

There is a notable change from this year in the examination pattern . Till now there were no negative marking for wrong answers, from this year onward there would be one negative mark (-1) for each wrong answer as against three positive marks( +3) . Just before, it was 2 Marks for each right answer and no negative marking for wrong answers was there.

Whole marking pattern has also been changed from 300 total marks to 450 Marks now ( numbers of the questions  will be same as before 150 Questions) but marking of each question has been changed from 2 marks to 3 marks.

The rest 60% pass percentage remain the same, you need to score 270 marks to pass.

Notification for Customs Broker / CHA/ Rule 6 Exam is published by the NACIN Faridabad. Attached herewith for your ready reference. You need to apply between 14th Oct to 15 Nov 2019. You need to get prepared Rs 5 Lakh Solvency Certificate from a Nationalized Bank to avoid last minute rush. Exam shall be conducted by the NACIN online on 06th March 2020.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR CBLR 2019 ORAL EXAM

But game is not over yet, the toughest part is remaining.

  1-  Customs Act 1962 is the mother of all procedure and rules of Customs, so major sections of customs act must be on your finger tips.

 4-  You must know, how to prepare and  file shipping bill and Bill of Entry.
 5-  You must be aware about export promotion schemes

 7-  You should go through various rules made under CA1962 like Drawback Rules, Baggage Rules, Valuation Rules etc.
 8-  You should be aware about Appellate Provisions and implications.
 9-  You should be aware about draw back provisions and procedures.
 10- You should know the whole detail and implications of the product you  are exporting and importing regularly.

Online CB Exam 15 March 2019

The Examination to be conducted on 15th March, 2019 at designated Examination Centers across India

Reference is invited to the Notice dated 27.04.2018 and Corrigendum dated 11.12.2018 inviting applications for the Customs Brokers Examination to be conducted by Directorate General of Performance Management. Vide Notification No.8/2019-Customs (N.T.) dated 6/2/2019 issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) has been authorized to conduct said examination under Regulation 6 of the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2018.  


The Examination shall be conducted on 15.03.2019 at designated Examination Centers across India. The examination will be a Computer Based Exam with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 3 hours (10:30 -13:30) duration.  There will be 150 questions of 2 marks each and to pass the exam, a candidate will be required to score minimum 180 marks. There will be no negative marking. The syllabus of examination will be as prescribed in Regulation No. 6 (7) of the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2018. Those qualifying in said examination will have to appear for oral examination in terms of Regulation 6 of said Regulations.   


A dummy Question paper for the purpose of awareness of candidates will also be made available on the CBIC and NACIN websites under the icon/tab <GSTP/CBLR Exam>, from 20thFebruary, 2019. A link to download the admit card will also be provided therein. Admit cards shall also be sent by email to applicants 15 days in advance before the date of examination. For convenience of candidates, other necessary details like list of centers, guidelines to the candidates, help desk email Id etc will be made available under the said icon/tab.
